1. What is SMS Banking?

SMS Banking is a simple and fast message notification service. Select from either PULL or PUSH options, in either English or Arabic, to get the information you need, wherever you are.

PUSH messages are automated messages that the bank sends out to the customer such as promotions offered by the bank, without the customer initiating a request for the information.

PULL messages are messages that are initiated by the customer e.g. obtaining account balance enquires.
2. How can I subscribe to the SMS banking service?

You can register to ABK’s SMS Banking service through Visiting the nearest ABK branch.
3. Can I switch my SMS Banking service subscription to another mobile number?

Customers can update their mobile number details by visiting the nearest ABK branch.
4. What is the difference between Basic and Pull SMS services?

  • Basic: Offers SMS services for transactions of KD 10 and above on the accounts and all Credit Cards transactions.
  • Pull: Offers SMS services on all accounts and credit cards transactions for transactions of KD 1 and above including pull and push service and daily updated balance.
5. Can I upgrade my SMS service subscription from Basic to Pull?

You can upgrade the SMS service from Basic to Pull by visiting the nearest ABK branch or contacting the ABK Call Centre at Ahlan Ahli 1 899 899 or +965 2 2442 211 for International calls.
Paid SMS subscriptions have an annual fee of KD 4.
6. I just changed my service provider, will I still receive my ABK SMS messages?

The SMS service requires up-to-date contact details, including the service provider. To update service provider details please visit the nearest ABK branch or contact the ABK Call Centre at Ahlan Ahli 1 899 899 or +965 2 2442 211 for International calls.
7. What happens if I don’t have the required amount in my account for the Pull SMS service annual renewal fees?

The subscription type will be automatically downgraded to Basic; therefore annual fees will be canceled.
8. Can I link 3 accounts to my SMS service?

You can have a total of 5 accounts linked to the SMS service. Please visit the nearest ABK branch or contact the ABK Call Centre at Ahlan Ahli 1 899 899 or +965 2 2442 211 for International calls to link the accounts to the SMS service.
9. How can I stop the SMS service?

To disable the SMS service please visit the nearest ABK branch or contact the ABK Call Centre at Ahlan Ahli 1 899 899 or +965 2 2442 211 for International calls.
10. Are there any fees to cancel the SMS service?

There is no fees cancellation for the SMS service.
