ABK Signs a Memorandum of Cooperation with College of Business Administration at Kuwait University

Reinforcing the Bank’s support to the education sector and Kuwait’s youth

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with the College of Business Administration at Kuwait University (KU). The MOC will assist the Bank in supporting academic and educational activities with KU, by facilitating current and future collaboration. The agreement was signed by ABK’s Deputy Chief General Manager, Mr. Abdullah Al-Sumait, and the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Professor Jassim Al Mudhaf, during a signing ceremony, which was held on 22 April, 2015.

One of the main pillars of ABK’s CSR strategy is to make valuable contributions to the education sector in support of Kuwait’s youth, by taking on new initiatives and playing an active and realistic role in promoting education programs of high standards and supporting the continuous improvement of programs quality.

Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Abdullah Al-Sumait said: “Creating such opportunities allows ABK to identify competent and talented students in which the Bank could further invest. ABK’s efforts are directed towards developing internship programs and field visits for the students of the College of Business Administration, in order to introduce them to the banking sector and to specifically provide them with a first-hand experience of what the working environment is like at ABK. We are certain that this agreement is the start of a very productive collaboration that will benefit college students and the Bank greatly”.

Professor Jassim Al Mudhaf said, “By solidifying relations with a Bank such as ABK, we are providing students with an unparalleled opportunity which will qualify them to work in the banking sector; a major interest to students in this college. We look forward to this partnership and all the constructive results it will bring to students and to the college as a whole”.

Through this collaboration ABK will become a main supporter of a wide range of activities and programs in relation to the banking sector organized by the college. These include offering internship opportunities, participation in the college’s job fairs and more importantly, support for its members with research, and provision of consultation related to the Bank’s activities.
