Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST). Through this partnership, the Bank will support a range of academic and educational activities undertaken by GUST. The agreement was signed by ABK’s Deputy Chief General Manager, Mr Abdulla Al-Sumait, and GUST president, Professor Donald Bates, during a signing ceremony on 8 September 2015.
Through the agreement, ABK will support GUST’s academic and educational activities as well as university research. In addition, on-site training and field visits will be provided for the students through the Bank’s internship and training programs. GUST’s outstanding students may also find employment with ABK, through the Bank’s participation in career exhibitions and other recruitment initiatives.
Commenting on the agreement, Mr Abdulla Al-Sumait said: “This collaboration with GUST reaffirms the commitment both GUST and ABK have to the development of the society.
ABK looks forward to playing an important role in the development of talented and competent graduates who can assume promising opportunities in the banking industry.
Professor Donald Bates said, “This MOC will help the university in providing more opportunities to our students to grow and to excel in a productive learning environment; as well as to our faculty to conduct their research and to develop their skills by the access to one of the best institutions in the country.
ABK is an avid supporter of education and has successfully built strong partnerships with many of Kuwait’s educational institutions to offer participating students a rewarding experience at a crucial point in their educational journey.
