ABK honored with ‘Employer of the Year’ for the third consecutive year

ABK provides key learnings about the changing approach to employee engagement at the 13th Human Capital Forum MENA

Driven by its strong employee engagement initiatives, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) was presented the prestigious ‘Employer of the Year’ award from Naseba at the 13th Human Capital Forum MENA 2018 for the third consecutive year.

Mr. Hamza Enki - General Manager – Human Resources said, “We are extremely proud to receive this award for the third year in a row. ABK strives to create a dynamic ‘working culture’ that ensures an environment where staff can thrive and grow their careers. As an employee centric organization, we have embarked on many development programs with an aim to continuously grow our employee’s knowledge base to better serve our clients. We have also put in place a proactive succession management plan to facilitate our nationalization program. On behalf of the management of ABK I thank the organizers for this prestigious award and I thank our employees, who are our greatest asset, for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.”

The two-day event took place on the 2 & 3 May 2018 at the Oberoi Hotel in Dubai. Held under the theme ‘HR driving business sustainability’, the forum brought together HR leaders from across the region to facilitate discussion, promote innovative thinking and provide attendees with actionable strategies to fuel the development of their human capital.

Mr. Jamil Girgis - Head of Performance Management, Rewards & HR Systems and Ms. Sara Burhamah - Manager of HR Systems represented ABK on the panel discussions. During the Tech & Innovation brainstorming session, the team provided key methodologies to optimally utilize HR data and analytics. In the panel discussion themed ‘Future Proofing the Organization’,

Mr. Jamil Girgis highlighted the projects ABK’s HR team is undertaking to embrace this new wave of technology. Furthermore, he shared insights on the need for planning to make the company cost effective, while transitioning to computer driven labor but simultaneously maximizing its existing human capital.
