Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) sponsored the Kuwait Medical Students Association Breast Cancer Awareness Week, which was held at the Health Sciences Center at Kuwait University from 13-17 October. The sponsorship aimed to drive awareness around breast cancer, how to prevent it and treatment options.
Throughout the week, specialised doctors were available at the center to give advice to students and faculty members, while tutors were also present to teach self-examination techniques. Survivors of breast cancer shared their experiences with participants, and attendees were able to view posters that provided them with vital and up to date medical information.
Breast cancer is by far the most common cancer in women worldwide, with around 1.4 million new cases every year. Throughout October, countries around the world hold events to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment, and palliative care of the disease.
ABK supported Kuwait Medical Students Association Breast Cancer Awareness Week as part of its commitment to making a difference in the communities it operates in. ABK is an active contributor to organizations that promote better healthcare for both men and women in Kuwait.
