In line with its CSR activities to support community-driven initiatives, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) sponsored the opening ceremony of the National Day of Disabled exhibition at the Hope School for Special Needs. In collaboration with The Kuwait Association for the Follow-Up of Disabled People, the event was held on the school premises on 5th November, and marked the start of a series of events to be held throughout the month.
The event was held in line with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which has been observed annually on 3rd December. The theme for the celebration of the 2019 edition was ‘The Future is Accessible’ which emphasizes that everyone collectively should look towards a future where the barriers which stand in people’s way no longer exist.
Over 25 schools participated in the exhibition where students showcased arts and crafts that they had created. The participating schools also handed out brochures about teaching methods and curriculum.
ABK’s support to the event stems from its commitment towards making a difference in the communities in which it operates. The one day event highlighted the importance of individual contributions in the creation of a movement of amplitude. In addition, ABK underlined the equal opportunity and responsibility of each individual towards the community.
