1. What is a Point of Sale (POS) Machine?

A point of sale machine, or POS terminal, is an electronic device used to process card payments at retail locations. A POS machine generally does the following:

Reads the information off a customer’s Credit or Prepaid card.
Checks whether the funds in a customer’s bank account are sufficient.
Transfers the funds from the customer’s account to the seller’s account.
Records the transaction and prints a receipt.

2. What are the benefits of a POS machine?

A point of sale machine is used to process card payments as well as:

Offers convenience and mitigates risks as opposed to cash payment.
Reward programs for most credit cards are on purchases through POS not cash withdrawal.

3. How can I get a POS machine?

You can request a POS machine by visiting the nearest ABK branch or contacting Ahlan Ahli 1 899 899 or +965 22907222 for International calls. The request will then be referenced to the POS department.

4. Can I have more than 1 POS machine?

Customers can request and assign multiple POS machines to their accounts. For more information, please contact +96522088042.

5. What accounts are eligible to be linked with a POS machine?

POS machines can only be linked to the following accounts:

Al Tajer Account
Current Accounts

6. What are the fees for a POS machine that is linked to an account?

The fees are dependent on the business and are usually discussed with the POS department representative or manager.For more information, please contact +96522088042.

7. How do I pay for or rent a POS machine?-

POS machine fees will be subtracted from the customer’s account on a monthly basis.
