Travel Tips
Before Travel
- Check the expiration date of your card
- Know your bank’s local and international contact numbers. You can reach the Ahlan Ahli call center locally at 1 899 899 and internationally at 2244 2211
- Activate SMS/push notification service to receive alerts for account and card transactions
- Ensure your online banking access is functional
- Book your travel through reputable or well-known websites only; avoid deals that seem too good to be true
- Confirm your card has Tap & Go service for convenient contactless payments under KD 25 without requiring your PIN
- Enhance security by setting up a new 4-digit T-PIN through Ahlan Ahli and chat service. Ensure the T-PIN is distinct from your card PIN and challenging for others to guess
During Travel
- It is advisable to pay in the local currency of the country you are visiting to avoid higher exchange rate commissions when using Kuwaiti Dinar abroad
- Keep your cards in sight and never leave them unattended during transactions
- Never disclose or write down your PIN, One Time Password (OTP) or 3D secure password
- When using ATMs, check for foreign objects or devices, shield your PIN from potential fraudsters, and avoid accepting assistance from strangers
- Verify the accuracy of the merchant name and amount on the POS screen before entering your PIN
- Refrain from using unsecured Wi-Fi, public/shared networks
- In case of card loss or any issues, immediately contact Ahlan Ahli for assistance
Upon Return
- Regularly change your card PIN through any bank branch, ATM or the call center for enhanced security
