Samsung Pay does not store the account or Card numbers on the device, instead using tokenization for transactions. Each time a purchase is made, the phone sends two pieces of data to the payment terminal: The 1st is a 16 digit token that represents the Credit or Debit card number, while the 2nd is a one-time code generated by the phone’s encryption key.
- Biometric Authentication: Transactions are authorized with your fingerprint. This means that you are in control of each payment transaction made
- Samsung Knox that monitors for vulnerabilities on your phone. If your phone is ever compromised, your card information is still safely encrypted in a separate, secure data vault
- Tokenization: Transactions use random tokens instead of your card number, which means your information isn’t shared when you shop and your and your details stay safe
