1. What are the types of accounts with which the customer can request to issue a cheque book?

All current accounts.

2. What is required to issue a cheque book?

The account should be updated and the CID / commercial registration should be valid.

3. What is the validity period of a cheque?

7 months from the date mentioned on the cheque.

4. What are the types of cheque books that Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait provides?

- 10 leaves cheque book with fee of KD2
- 25 leaves cheque book with fee of KD5
- 50 leaves cheque book with fee KD7

5. What procedures are taken to issue a cheque without enough balance?

If three (3) cheques are rejected within one (1) year due to insufficient balance, customer will be required to close the current account and be placed on a black list.

6. What are the charges for a returned cheque?

KD 20 will be charged as a returned cheque commission due to insufficient balance or other reasons.

7. Are there any charges for withdrawal cheques with the amount of KD10,000 and above?

Yes, a fee of KD 2.5 is the commission for cashing a cheque worth KD10,000 or more. Note: These fees do not apply to elderly people and disabled customers.

8. What is the procedure for a lost/stolen cheque?

Customer is able to submit his request to ‘Stop Cashing a Cheque’ by visiting the nearest ABK branch to sign the required documents and provide a Police Report mentioning the cheque number that needs to be stopped.

9. Are there any fees charged for a request to stop a cheque?

Yes, a fee of KD 5 is required as a commission to stop any cheque. These fees do not apply to elderly people and disabled customers.

10. How can I request the cheque book ?

You can submit your cheque book request from ABK Mobile application, Online banking or by visiting the nearest branch.
