What is a beneficiary?

When transferring funds, you would typically transfer from one of your ABK accounts to another account that could be another account at ABK, a Local account, or an international account.

The recipient account is called a beneficiary account.

In order for you to conduct online transfers, you will first need to create and activate a beneficiary.

Is there a limit to the number of beneficiaries I can create?

There is no limit for the number of beneficiaries you can create. However, we suggest that you label them distinctively to avoid confusing multiple benefactors with each other.

How can I create and activate my recently added beneficiaries?

To add a new beneficiary, go to the Products tab, select the ABK icon, then choose Add New Beneficiaries. Click + New, select the beneficiary type, enter the beneficiary's details, and click Proceed. Choose your preferred OTP delivery method and confirm the request.

Your newly added beneficiary will be activated automatically after 12 hours. Alternatively, you can activate the beneficiary immediately by selecting Call Me and completing the verification through the Call Center.

Is there a limit on the amount or number of transfers I can make through the app?

Transfer amount and transaction count limits may apply depending on the selected transfer service.

Why am I getting a message stating that I have exceeded my transfer limit when using Online Banking?

This message indicates that you have reached your daily or monthly Online Banking transfer limit. If you need to complete the transfer within the same day or month, you may need to increase your transfer limit. You can update your transfer limits by navigating to the My Profile page in Online Banking.

Are there any transfer charges for Online Banking transfers?

ABK does not charge any fees for transfer transactions. However, if you choose to pay the correspondent bank charges, the applicable amount requested by the correspondent bank will be debited from your account. For details of all applicable banking fees, please refer to the Tariff List available on the ABK website and on the pre-login screen of the ABK Mobile App.

Can I make an international fund transfer in KWD?

We strongly recommend selecting a transfer currency that matches the destination country when making an international transfer. Failure to do so may result in your transfer request being cancelled.

How can I change my password after logging in?

After logging in to Online Banking, navigate to Security Settings.

To change your password, enter your current password and create a new one that meets the following requirements. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it from the pre-login screen by selecting Forgot Password and following the on-screen instructions.
